Due to the February Carnival in Buenos Aires 2016, the city will be filled with even more people and activity than usual over the upcoming weekends.
Apart from many street performances that includes tango dancing, folklore, salsa and cumbia, there will also be many different fun activities for children. Don’t get offended if someone throws confetti or spray foam in your way, it is part of the local carnival tradition!
Although Gualeguaychú in Entre Rios and Corrientes are slightly more famous for their carnivals than Buenos Aires in Argentina, there are still many many events going on around the city for you to enjoy.
The festivities will run from early morning until late at night in most of the capital’s districts, and here we list some of the specifics on where and when the music and dancing will take place in central Buenos Aires:
ABASTO: 8th and 9th of February
Avenida Córdoba between Sanchez de Bustamante y Aguero.
ALMAGRO: All Saturdays and Sundays in february
Avenida Corrrientes between Medrano and Gascon.
PALERMO: 8th, 9th, 27th and 28th of February
Darwin between Cabrera and Niceto Vega.
SAN TELMO: 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th of February
Avenida Independencia between Peru and Chacabuco.
VILLA CRESPO: 8th, 9th 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th
Avenida Corrientes and Scalabrini Ortiz between Padilla.
